Project Description

Project Owner: Yarra Valley Water
Head contractor: MFJ Constructions
Tunnelling subcontractor: Pezzimenti Trenchless
Pipeline Length: 4.1km
Project: Donvale Sewer GRP pipe installation

HOBAS CC GRP OD271/427/550/718 Jacking Pipe was used for this job in Donvale in Melbourne’s east, consisting of a 4.1km sewer installation and construction of a 290m section of GRP reticulation pipework.

The branch sewer is scheduled to be completed by June 2017 and will become the backbone of the Donvale Sewerage Project. Prior to this project much of Donvale had no sewer network. Once completed, this 4.1km long sewer will transport sewage from Glenvale Road in Ringwood North to a point in the existing sewerage network near Old Warrandyte Road in Donvale. Sewerage pipes from other local projects will also connect to this new branch sewer.

Global Pipe will also supply 2.5 kilometres of smaller sewer pipes constructed in streets that are in close proximity to the branch sewer. The project area is bound by Glenvale Road to the east, the Mullum Mullum Creek and Smedley Road to the North, the EastLink Tunnel to the south and Old Warrandyte Road to the west. Donvale is an established suburb on Melbourne’s north-eastern urban fringe.
